The Broken Arrow School Resource Officer (BASRO) program incorporates a multifaceted strategy of enforcement, education, and counseling in hopes of reducing criminal activity on school campuses, reduce student suspensions for violent incidents, and contribute to the quality of a safe learning and teaching environment. BASRO Officers perform the following functions:
- Respond to schools for calls for service
- Conduct school site visits to promote interaction between officers and youth.
- Conduct presentations to students and other groups on various subjects.
- Provide mentoring to students having discipline issues.

Cpl. Bryan Durling supervises the school resource officer unit. Cpl. Durling currently assists with both Broken Arrow and the Union School district.
Officer Gary Sanders is assigned to Broken Arrow High School, Centennial and Oneta Ridge Middle Schools, Country Lane, Creekwood, Liberty, Highland Park, Timber Ridge, Arrowhead, and Park Lane Elementary Schools.
Officer Paul Hughes is currently assigned to the Freshman Academy, Options Academy, Sequoyah Middle School, Wolf Creek, Rhoades, Oak Crest, and Lynn Wood Elementary schools.
Officer Tiffany Jessie is currently assigned to Childers Middle School, Oliver Middle School, Aspen Creek, Spring Creek, Arrow Springs, Vandever, and Leisure Park Elementary Schools.
Officer James Taylor is currently assigned to the Union 8th grade center, McAuliffe, Peters, Moore and Anderson Elementary schools in the Union School District within the Broken Arrow city limits.
