The Community Engagement office is responsible for everything related to public relations with the Broken Arrow Fire Department. The Community Engagement Specialist serves as the primary contact for the department and is responsible for releases of information to both news and social media, coordinates certain public events and collaborates with many businesses and non-profit organizations in Broken Arrow to assist them with Fire Prevention efforts.
Our employees engage citizens in multiple platforms, functions, and presentations in order to facilitate relations between police and the public. This has improved communication and cooperation with the public and has enhanced efforts of crime prevention, public relations, and the investigations of crime.

PulsePoint
BAFD is the First Agency in Oklahoma to Use PulsePoint
On October 25, 2017, Broken Arrow Fire Department became the first emergency medical service in the state of Oklahoma to use PulsePoint, a mobile app that alerts citizens trained in hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when someone in a nearby public place suffers sudden cardiac arrest. When the City’s emergency dispatchers receive a sudden cardiac arrest call, an alert is sent through the app at the same time as emergency responders are dispatched. The app also notifies users of any nearby automated external defibrillators (AED). Special thanks go to Saint Francis Hospital South for providing the funding needed to bring PulsePoint to Broken Arrow.
Anyone who is trained in CPR is encouraged to download the PulsePoint app free through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Once the app is installed, select the Broken Arrow Fire Department from the agency listings to receive alerts. Users may follow more than one agency.
