Current projects:
- Due to the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority’s construction project to improve the Creek Turnpike Bridge in southwest Broken Arrow, a portion of the Liberty Parkway Trail is temporarily closed. For public safety, the trail is not accessible where it passes under the bridge parallel to New Orleans Street and connects to the north side of New Orleans St. This closure will remain in effect for the duration of the OTA construction project.
- Washington Street between County Line Road and 199th East Ave. City crews are reconstructing this section of Washington Street. Local traffic will be accommodated. Work begins on April 6 and is expected to continue by April 17.
- Intersection of Washington Street and Lynn Lane. Construction crews are rehabilitating and widening the intersection to five lanes in all directions.
- 209th East Avenue between 101st and 114th streets. City crews are conducting stormwater improvements along the roadway. The speed limit is reduced to 25 mph and motorists are advised to be alert of employees working on the street. This work started in mid July and is expected to continue into August.
- Houston Widening Project between Garnett Road and Olive Avenue. This project is complete, however, there are lane closures on the east end of Houston prior to the intersection. These closures are for the safety of the construction crew working on Houston street on the other side of the intersection
- Houston Street Widening Project between Olive Avenue and Aspen Avenue. Speed is limited to 25 mph and one lane of traffic in both directions while crews work to widen this three-lane mile to five lanes. Construction began in March, 2026.
- Elm Place between Washington Street and Houston Street. Oklahoma Department of Transportation has crews on site to install a HAWK traffic signal which allows pedestrians using the trail to cross Elm Place safely. The signal will only be illuminated when a pedestrian activates the light to stop traffic long enough for them to safely cross the street. Speed is limited where construction is ongoing and the outside lanes in this area are closed.
