Federal Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit:  Homeowners can claim a federal tax credit for making certain improvements to their homes or installing appliances that are designed to boost energy efficiency. This is known as the Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit: solar, wind, geothermal, and fuel cell technology are all eligible.

Federal Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC): The single most successful and important solar incentive available in the United States.  It is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the federal tax bill of any homeowner who pays for a solar installation.  The ITC is a direct tax credit that can offer up to 26% of your cost to install solar in 2020.  Click this link to view the IRS 5695 Form.
