The City of Broken Arrow and partners throughout the community want every Broken Arrow resident to be counted in the 2020 U.S. Census.
Why is it important to me?
The federal government uses Census data to help determine important local factors like tax funding and representation in Congress. Health clinics, fire departments, schools, and even roads and highways, the census can shape many different aspects of your community. Experts estimate each household that doesn’t complete the Census survey costs our community about $1,675 in local federal funding per person, per year, for 10 years.
What information will be requested?
The census will collect basic information about the people living in your household. When completing the census, you should count everyone who is living in your household on April 1, 2020.
What information will NOT be requested?
- The Census Bureau will never ask for:
- Social security numbers.
- Bank or credit card account numbers.
- Money or donations.
- Anything on behalf of a political party.
