May 6, 2026 - During the weekly BA Breakdown segment, City Manager Michael Spurgeon was asked for an update on the potential development. Nothing new has been learned since the press release issued on April 30, but Spurgeon did discuss the city's efforts to be transparent when/if new information comes available.

City Manager Michael Spurgeon sat down with FOX 23 News anchor Rick Maranon for an in-depth interview about the due diligence process the city is taking while it waits for a prospective company to make contact with staff about potentially developing a data center in Broken Arrow.

A prospective company has pulled out of its deal for now to purchase privately-owned property in east Broken Arrow as a possible location for a data center development project.  

Late last week, the owner of the land between State Highway 51 and the Creek Turnpike notified City Administration that the letter of intent (LOI) agreement to sell the property has expired. No reason was provided or discussed regarding why the LOI was not renewed.  For more information, click here.
