The second meeting of June included more than 100 items for the Broken Arrow City Council, Municipal Authority, and Economic Development Authority to consider. Here are a few highlights of the meeting on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Data Center Moratorium: City Council approved a 6-month moratorium during which time no land use applications for development of a data center will be accepted. The pause will allow time for city staff to continue a due diligence process to study all potential impacts a data center could have on Broken Arrow.

No-Knock List Registry: Councilors adopted an ordinance amendment to include a No-Knock List registry of addresses voluntarily submitted by residents who do not wish to be disturbed by door-to-door solicitors. Check back in the coming months to learn how to add your address to the list.

Fiscal Year 2027 Budget: City Council adopted the $487-million-dollar municipal budget for FY27 which begins on July 1. The budget includes $194,629,027 in operational expenses, $242,723,658 in capital improvements, and $49,686,733 in debt service. You can view the budget on the Finance page of the city website.

Back-in or Pull-in Parking: As the roadway repavement project progresses on Main Street between Houston and Washington Streets, Council approved a reconfiguration of the parking configuration to change from back-in to pull-in for on-street parking.

Liberty Park Trailway Repairs: Cherokee Pride Construction submitted the lowest responsible bid to rebuild approximately 800 feet of the retaining wall along the Liberty Park Trailway between Aspen Avenue and Elm Place. The contract cost is $861,086.

Fireworks in Broken Arrow: Representatives of the fire and police departments discussed the details of the city’s ordinance and how the state’s new law, Rocket’s Red Glare Act, primarily affects unincorporated areas in the counties and does not preempt or override Broken Arrow’s ordinance.

Intersection Improvements at Houston and Midway: The consulting firm Kimley-Horn and Associates will begin designing improvements at this intersection, including a left-turn lane, a traffic signal, sidewalk connectivity, and drainage improvements.

Happy 250th Birthday, America: Mayor Wimpee signed a proclamation declaring Broken Arrow’s support for the United States' semi-quincentennial as a celebration to educate, preserve, and innovate on this milestone anniversary. New Municipal Services Building: During a special meeting prior to the regular meeting, City Councilors reviewed the plans for the new Municipal Services Building project, including the conceptual site plan, floor plans, and exterior and interior renderings. The building will be located in the northeast corner of Main and Washington streets.
