BAPD graduates 10 new officers

Post Date:08/03/2023 1:28 p.m.

Ten cadets ready to serve and protect graduated from the Broken Arrow Police Academy at a ceremony on Aug. 3 at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center.

These recruits began the Police Academy in January and completed over 1,000 hours of intense training in 28 weeks. Following the graduation ceremony, they will start a 14-week Field Training Program before being released to patrol independently.

“Today marks a milestone for BAPD,” Police Chief Brandon Berryhill said. “We have 10 cadets graduating to serve the citizens of Broken Arrow—two cadets have served our country in the military, two are legacies with fathers who have retired or are serving at BAPD, and two have former law enforcement experience.”

Berryhill says Broken Arrow is fully staffed and poised for the future.

“Each cadet took a different path to get to Broken Arrow,” he said. “They all share the desire to serve and be part of the BAPD Family. The Broken Arrow Police Department is a destination agency.”

It is the BAPD’s 13th class of cadets to graduate since the department first launched its Police Academy in 2008.

The Broken Arrow Police Department will be graduating the following new officers:
