The award-winning Rose District is an arts and entertainment hub, a shopping and dining destination, and a place for social gathering that make it a must-stop in Broken Arrow for residents and visitors. The allure is what it is today because of the input of engaged citizens, imaginative and forward-thinking leadership, and the significant investments of public/private partnerships to build on the ideas that began as dreams but became reality with a revitalized downtown.
Now, it’s time to look toward the future again and imagine what an expanded downtown could look like!
Earlier this year, the city hired consultants to create a new Downtown Master Plan that builds on the foundation of the inaugural plan from two decades ago that created the Rose District. The new plan will build on the successes of the Rose District today and serve as the strategic roadmap for the next chapter of downtown growth and revitalization.
With input from a Citizens Advisory Committee, city staff, and focus groups, the team of consultants developed three ideas to build the new Downtown Master Plan, including projects to spur and motivate the future downtown. And now, we need your help!
Please join us for a community workshop to review the three ideas, learn about the history of Broken Arrow, gain insight into what makes a vibrant downtown and the array of potential housing, entertainment, recreational, and destination options being considered for inclusion of the Downtown Master Plan.
