The Department of Community Development provides a one-stop service to commercial and residential development. This includes cradle to grave support for these areas. Community Development brings together the professionals needed to help streamline the process of rezoning, platting, obtaining permits and inspections.
“We are excited to announce this change to Community Development,” said Larry Curtis, acting director of Community Development. “Our team is very excited about the changes and feel they reflect on the department’s commitment to the citizens and the growth of the City of Broken Arrow.”
The staff is dedicated to providing excellent customer service by offering professional, caring and timely service. They provide essential information to the public concerning City Codes and Ordinances, along with overseeing the process of platting, zoning, planned unit developments (PUDs), inspections, occupational licensing and public nuisances.
Community Development is comprised of four divisions; each of which has varying degrees of responsibility:
- Planning and Development
- Placemaking
- Neighborhood Engagement and Inspections
- Community Permitting and Licensing
