Beginning Monday, Feb. 11, a City contractor will begin work to repair a portion of Florence (111th) Street adjacent to the Creek Turnpike bridge between Olive Street (129th East Avenue) and Garnett Road.
Along with a 25 mile per hour speed limit through the work zone, westbound traffic on Florence will be shifted to a temporary lane on the north side of the road.
Weather permitting, the project should take about 60 days to complete.
The project will repair a large void that was discovered beneath the pavement on the southwest approach to the bridge. Crews will repair the void and reseal existing joints in that section of the approach.
The work will cost approximately $98,770 and is funded through the Street Sales Tax fund.
