The City Attorney serves as the Chief Legal Advisor to the Broken Arrow City Council. Although many duties include advising the council, city commissions and authorities, the attorney also defends the city in actions filed in federal and state courts, including on the appellate level.

Additional responsibilities include prosecuting violations of all city codes and appeals in District Court and the Criminal Court of Appeals; handling civil litigation and appeals in State and Federal courts, defending civil rights cases and drafting and reviewing contracts for the city.
