Nienhuis Park Community Center

The Nienhuis Park Community Center is a state of the art facility offering programs for children, youth, adults and seniors. Some of the activities include walking for seniors,  holiday and special events, sports and fitness, open gym, basketball, exercise classes for young and old, volleyball, as well as other activities that the whole family can enjoy. All patrons 10 & older choosing to use the center are required to get a Broken Arrow Park I.D. that may be obtained at the center.  A photo I.D. (driver’s license, school I.D. etc..) must be presented by everyone ages 16 and older and an application must be filled out in order to receive a Park ID. Patrons under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian signature on their Broken Arrow Parks & Recreation ID Form.

 

Facility Amenities: 

·                   Large Meeting Room - has a capacity of 80 people with an adjoining kitchen.   The kitchen contains a refrigerator, ice machine, dishwasher and microwave.  There is not a stove.  There are serving windows to both the meeting room and patio area. This room has tables and chairs available for use.  This room rents for $20 per hour.

·                   Kids Recreation Room with ping-pong table, pool table, shuffleboard table, foosball table, game table and tables to sit and hang out with friends.

·                   Outdoor patio with grill.

·                   2 full size gymnasiums which can be used for walking, exercise, basketball, volleyball, badminton, pickle ball, and other various gym games.

·                     Skate Park – Open dawn to dusk – pads and helmets strongly encouraged

·                     8 youth football fields (4 lighted)

Recreation Programs:

 

            Walking & Fitness (Monday – Thursday 1-2 p.m.)

The gyms will be open for adults of all ages Monday - Thursday from 1-2 p.m. 13 laps around the full gym is 1 mile.  You will have access to exercise mats, small exercise weights, jump ropes, and exercise balls. The indoor gym is a nice place to walk, exercise or stretch whether it is hot or cold outdoors.

            Volleyball League (Adult ages 16 & older) (Mondays 6:30-9 p.m.)

Adult volleyball League. Patrons 16 & older will play 2 matches per night for 8 weeks. Year-round on-going leaguest - Lots of fun!! 

 

Zumba  (Adult age 16 & older) (Monday & Wednesday 6-7 p.m.) Year Round

A great class for beginners, the active older adult, and/or persons that are not used to exercising.  Also great for those who are limited physically. 


Karate Tuesday & Thursday for all ages and levels.

 

Family Fun Night Friday nights - games and activities for the whole family!
