The City of Broken Arrow will host a community play date to celebrate the opening of a new playground at the City’s Events Park.
The Events Park has held several large festivals and events, such as the recent ScotFest, but the large park in southeast Broken Arrow lacked a playground for many years. The new playground features various climbing equipment and a rock wall with slides, three picnic pavilions, as well as a new restroom facility. Construction cost about $520,000, funded by the voter-approved 2014 General Obligation Bond.
Everyone is invited to join the community play date, which begins with a ribbon cutting at 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, at the playground on the east side of the Events Park, 21101 E. 101st St. Light refreshments will be served. The entrance to the playground is east of the main entrance to the park, near 215th East Avenue.
