Broken Arrow City Council Election Results


On Tuesday, April 4, Broken Arrow residents voted to re-elect Mayor Craig Thurmond to the Broken Arrow City Council for Ward 2. Residents also elected Debra Wimpee to fill the Ward 1 City Council seat. Wimpee will replace long-time City Councilor Richard Carter, who has served on Council since 1993.

“On behalf of the BA Chamber membership and the business community, we would like to congratulate Mayor Thurmond and Debra Wimpee. We are look forward to continuing to work with the council members to grow Broken Arrow and are excited that Mrs. Wimpee will be a part of that,” stated Wes Smithwick, president and CEO of the BA Chamber. “We also want to that thank Councilor Richard Carter for your 24 years serving Broken Arrow. The projects he has been a part of have made a significant impact on not only Broken Arrow, but the entire region.”

Thurmond and Wimpee will be sworn in on Tuesday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m., during the City Council Meeting held at City Hall, 220 S. First Street.
